This blog has plenty of useful information available as the development of HTML5 moves along. They seem to post something new about a couple times a week. Each post is quite detailed and includes examples of usage.

They’re very clear about the current state of usage since html5 is still in development.
As a designer myself I’m very excited for html5 to be the new standard. Now if we can only get everybody in the world to update their browsers…
